International Experiences
We lead 10 – 12 day-long high school & university student groups on experiential exchanges to Nicaragua & Honduras. These trips offer a unique mix of historical, cultural educational tours and hands-on practical experience of working at the community level on small sustainable development initiatives.
For university or college graduates, we also offer numerous international internship experiences. Theses are a great way to get hands-on, professional experience in your field of study.
Youth Programs
Falls Brook Centre's Wilderness Camps are great ways to bring nature and sustainability education out of the classroom and into the practical experience of today's new generation of youth leaders.
Our youth programs ususally are 2-day long experience events that bring together Atlantic Canadian youth. In particular, we try to increase the participation of rural youth in all of our programs.
Teaching Resources
Falls Brook Centre has developed a number of innovative, multimedia resources for bringing our international & environmental on-the-ground experience into the classroom.
The four major themes covered are Global issues, Greening School Grounds, Democracy Education & Climate Change. Under each of these themes we have classroom & student projects, resources, lesson plans and interactive web units that aim to enrich the learning experience. Many of the resources provide a New Brunswick context as well as a Canadian & global context to hot issues of our times.
