Past On-Farm Organic Research Reports

Expanding our collective knowledge about organic farming techniques and applications is crucial to moving organics into the mainstream.  On-farm research projects are part of the NBOFAP - designed by farmers and apprentices, with advisory assistance from the Organic Agriculture Centre of Canada (OACC) and the New Brunswick Department of Agriculture and Aquaculture (NBDAA).  Click on the reports to the right to see what apprentices discovered in 2006.

Soil workshop tour
Are you already farming or gardening, but want to learn more about organic techniques and meet others involved in the Atlantic organic scene?  The Farming Organically Workshop Series is open to the public, meeting one day a month at different farms from May to October.  Topics include soils, pests, livestock, marketing, business planning and more.

Want to see a program like this in your community?  It is our goal to see this successful program model help shape organic farmer training in Atlantic Canada and beyond.  We have documented how the apprentice program developed including: key players, finding funding, lessons learned, continued success, and future projects.  Read our story in From the Ground...UP!  or En partant du sol!.  Contact us for print or CD versions of either language.
